Great to speak at the APCIA annual meeting today and talk about the positive results of reforming litigation in Florida.

Florida used to be regarded as a “judicial hellhole,” but we have changed this through great judicial appointments and major tort reform. 

We have also provided grants through the My Safe Florida Home program, which has helped Floridians harden their homes and reduce insurance costs of damage from storms, and we have enhanced consumer protections and regulatory oversight so that bad actors can be held accountable.

The result is 17 new companies have entered the market, and the Office of Insurance Regulation has received 59 filings for rate decreases as of September 30th.
