8 CalMac ferries being out of service is a national disgrace.
The "Vote Todd ferry" will likely look like the reality we already have - delays, disruption, uncertainty, financial loss.
The SNP’s ferry scandal is an insult and failure to communities- as is her tone deaf post.
Today we celebrate the incredible contributions women make to our communities, in public service, families, businesses and volunteering.
It’s also a moment to reflect on progress made, and the work still required to ensure opportunity and safety for all women and girls. #IWD
Very saddened to hear of the passing of my dear friend Sir Jamie McGriggor, former Highland & Islands MSP & Cllr for Oban South & The Isles. Jamie was a true stalwart for the area, who was respected for his kind and humorous nature. My deepest condolences to his family & friends.
All set up for another fabulous day at @The_RHS. Pop along to hear our proposals and how the @ScotTories are protecting and supporting our farmers and crofters
Helensburgh Waterfront Leisure Centre
The Storm has caused significant damage to the roof with debris blown across a wide area. Contractors and council officers have been on site since yesterday evening to progress the clear up operation. West Clyde Street had been closed for the safety of the public, but debris has been cleared sufficiently to allow it to re-open safely. Work continues to assess damage to the centre, and immediate and longer term actions required.
Helensburgh car park and access to the pier is closed as a public safety measure given the damage to Helensburgh Leisure Centre. Owners of cars parked in the car park are encouraged to remove their vehicles as soon as possible. The Council will support access, during daylight hours.
Yesterday marked 80 years since Victory in Europe (VE) Day. Over the past week there have been many events in commemoration of the sacrifice and bravery of those who served to protect their country so that we may enjoy the freedom we have today. Lest We Forget.
Absolutely delighted to attend the grand opening of Tiree business units & also document this wonderful before & after from Dec ‘23 to today ⬇️
Huge congratulations to Tiree Community Development Trust on a very successful & much needed facility for island businesses to thrive!
@vicki_basenjis@ScotTories @RuralTories I can understand your point on the timing aspect, this is due to it being factored into the budget before the beginning of the new financial year and is the case across Scotland.
@vicki_basenjis@ScotTories @RuralTories (3) Neither budgets were to cover wages, pensions & NI. There is a wide range of things covered. I am happy to send you a copy of both proposals if you wish to email them over for you to review.
@vicki_basenjis@ScotTories @RuralTories (2) importantly- open public serve up to more a more diverse range of people, rather than just those who can afford to do the job, or have to try to find an additional job to top up their earnings.
In regards to the 9.9% CT increase- As you know I didn’t vote in favour……
