Why is it that any time you start doing any kind of troubleshooting/repair work with computers, the room automatically descends into unorganized chaos with you surrounded by a million cables, bins full of outdated bits and bobs, and like a million usb's?
I don’t know who needs to hear this, but overdelivering on every little task is only killing you slowly and no one is giving you a raise for perfectly worded emails.
For clarification #MSTDSM, when I said I threw my elbow out playing crab rave... This is that. (Did I deliberately pick the part of the song where I didn't miss any notes? Absolutely)
@lamagr22 Yes! The article I've attached is the extreme case (and a rough read, be forewarned) but it's what got me thinking about it. Hopefully museum moderators wouldn't have to go through the kind of content the facebook mods did, but It's not inconceivable https://t.co/NBkqbAjBN7
@lamagr22 I believe we are not and should not feel obligated to host harmful language (this supposed obligation is part of how fringe hate groups build legitimacy) But by not archiving it in some way we loose the ability to learn how to combat it.
There's also the issue of who archives 1/2
@JustineThomasM A very good point! I hadn't really thought about it before, but the number of likes on a post does effect how I view the event/location it's talking about.
#MSTDSM if you're like me and keep missing #museumhour here's your chance it's starting now!!! This week it's on networking and professional relationships.
@lamagr22 it's hard to fit all my thoughts in, But the distance the author puts between the museum and the internet is frustrating. "There is always the danger of becoming too entangled with the subject matter" is a bad take, I think. Memes may not be the future, but cultural creations 1/2
@MackenzieBreel1 Yes! I feel like It really effects my voice using Twitter lingo. I imagine having to try and fit everything into the previous minimum of 140 characters created a lot of the jargon.
A bit of a disjointed thought, but 🐻 with me #MSTDSM. Did anyone else have an adjustment period/still struggling to get a hang of Twitter specific language and sentence structure? Sometimes it feels like I'm reading a telegram and missing half the info/context!
@jennyabright I think social could be a good choice for addressing crisis management, or something like the Prado museums situation, but I think it would be a hard sell for something like loosing that £750,000 ring!
