Residents have reportedly received a letter asking them to keep their young daughters indoors and not allow them to wear short skirts, claiming this could “tempt” refugees to rape them.

The letter also reportedly asks residents to keep their dogs indoors.

If genuine, this is an outrageous message to send to residents. The responsibility for preventing sexual assault lies with those who commit such crimes not with women, girls, or their clothing.
