Highlight of the day was when a woman I passed on the street complimented my outfit then asked to take a pic of it. Happy to know my “first day of the farmer’s market” ensemble was a success, wicker basket and all!
Just funny to think all of these bruises over the years are representative of strength, of a journey towards wellness, and a painful but necessary step forward. Grateful though that this time around I’m excited and proud of my bruises, instead of feeling sad to see them.
Once upon a time I would take pictures of the massive bruises I got from IVs and all the needles. A combo of wanting to document it, and a strange fascination at the proof of what happened in those places, when so little of my illness could be seen.
Now, years later, I take photos of the vast amount of bruises I get from my pole classes. Similar desire to document, but I’m happy that these are self inflicted and part of a larger journey towards strength and fun and fitness.
Love discovering new things in a city I’ve lived in for 8 years now. Feels exciting to be reminded there’s always more to discover, especially on days when the wanderlust kicks up
Always a weird thought when I remember that I took DRAM 100 in first year simply because I needed a 5th course in my schedule, and now I work in theatre full time as my career. Funny the way seemingly inconsequential choices can completely alter your life path.
Also proud of myself for how many grant applications I’ve sent in the last few months. Grants are hard, not the writing itself, but the work and emotional labour that goes into preparing it for the hope of a yes. Even when they’re a no though, it’s a win to have simply submitted!
And so far for 2023, we have 5 nos, 4 pending, and 4 yeses when it comes to grants and applications! Fantastic start to the year, and hoping to keep this momentum up! Freelance arts is hard, but it feels good when things work out 😊
But in other news, I finally have visible abs coming in that I can show off when the warm weather comes, so you win some you lose some. (Also, as someone who’s never had real ab strength, this is a major win for my post-surgery body!)
The sad irony that this is the best my cheekbones have ever been in my life, but no one gets to see them behind my N95 when I’m out of the house. Alas, I guess I’ll just need to make sure my Zoom lighting is on point
Thank you once again to @KFLAPH for making the booster process quick, efficient, and accessible for residents! Grateful for all they’ve done and continue to do for Kingstonians.
Excited to have gotten my 5th shot (3rd booster) yesterday! After 4 rounds of Pfizer, opted for Novavax this time now that it’s available in Kingston. Having been following how well it’s been performing for most of this past year, and hearing nothing but good, it felt like the…
side effects or lack there of are indicitive of anything in paticular, just nice to not deal with them this time. Very excited knowing how long Novavax protection is reporting to last, and happy to be freshly boosted while we head into what will likely be a hard winter.
best choice for me, especially given my health complications. Happy to report aside from a sore arm day of and some fatigue and bleh feelings that evening, the next day I’ve been feeling fine, and no second day flu symptoms like I had with Pfizer. Not to say these day after…
The way I have babbled on to my bestie this year about how goblincore is a key facet to my apt’s interior design influence - notably my kitchen - and then it somehow winds up as one of my Spotify wrapped genres 😂
Just extra frustrated today I guess at the lack of mask wearing and the way so many people can’t be bothered to care about others’ or frankly their own health. This thing isn’t over no matter how much people want to pretend it is - and that is why it’s getting worse.
My constant mantra during the pandemic: everyone’s healthy/“low risk” until they’re not.
I was “healthy” for 18 yrs, then I got hit with an autoimmune condition seemingly out of no where. High stress flipped the switch. No one knows what could be their switch - it could be C19.
Also, it almost feels like a slap in the face to those who are disabled. The idea that youth, health, fitness are somehow the antithesis to disability. You can have a disability and still be fit. You can be a young person and be disabled. These things aren’t mutually exclusive.
