@amorinelli54 @scoch006 I think it's also nice that our generation has the ability to truly see the conditions of these countries, and have reached out to help in multiple ways. Social media, fundraisers, community projects, etc. #comodu
@EllenW_COMM395 YES. I agree completely. I rarely use Twitter to post something professional. That's why I the news accounts do a good job with the character limit, etc. But I would much rather use E-mail, Facebook, or LinkedIn. #comodu
@amorinelli54 I can see a change, but it may only be in regards to our communication on our school Facebook pages! I am, however, getting more recommendations for better informed/respectable pages since we started following people at the beginning of the semester. #comodu
@amorinelli54@HoveyHannah I have noticed the prominence of polls as well! A good example (but maybe not sponsored?) is on our MyODU page. There are always polls on the right hand side of the page to gather more information about students and are extremely easy to answer. #comodu
@a_thomasss1 It's just cool to see what countries use social media for. The "why" of social media. Online presence has become a must in majority of our schools, businesses, etc., while other countries are just getting started. Very interesting!
As the semester comes to a close, I'm just glad to see the power of conversation and social force this class has had! It's always fun to see the development of communication with peers. #comodu
Instagram could start hiding like counts via @mashable https://t.co/CxlZxMUpS9
@sallyc1824: Do you agree with the psychology behind this potential update to Instagram?
Wondering how many social media platforms are taken into account on the WAVE map. Also, are fake users counted with the final total and would this skew data? Just a thought! #comodu
Realized after taking this class there is so much more on twitter than I thought, both positive and negative. I was never a Twitter person but now I find myself on it all the time looking for news updates and the latest posts! #comodu
@katelyncomodu I got on social media when AIM was still a thing. So.. 2003? Haha. Then MySpace, then Facebook in 2008! So crazy to think about. I had forgotten about AIM until just now. #comodu
@katelyncomodu@uncaucus I think this is a great idea! Especially for an area as small as Providence, this is easy to get the word out and keeping locals informed. We have a similar system for the town that I live in, and it seems to be useful!
@HoveyHannah This is exactly what I thought of when I saw the topic for the module! Trump uses Twitter WAY too much.. or I guess doesn't use it for the right reasons and doesn't think through his posts.
"Since Libyaβs civil war, the use of social media across the globe to draw attention to foreign crises has only grown stronger." Thought this was an interesting read--relates to foreign interventions and social media! #comodu https://t.co/SV5kqNRPU1
Just had a friend post on Facebook: βHave you ever considered βconsentβ when posting on social media. Ex: asking the other person if you can tag them or post their picture, etc.?β Never thought about this before!! #comodu
Just finished reading The Circle! Books/movies/shows describing social platforms and media like this are always so interesting. Almost Black Mirror-like! About to watch the movie to finish off the Saturday and look for comparisons. #thecircle#comodu
@brewsandtattoos@kpasa@LeahRemini Yes! Religion is a theme in the movie. The night that Mae suggests the idea for Demoxie, a drunk man man approaches her in a bar to tell her she has "found a way to save all the souls" and draws a circle in the air that Mae realizes is in the shape of a halo. Circle=heaven/hell?
