Miami-Dade’s overflow animal shelter in Medley is moving to a state-of-the-art 25,000 sf shelter that will open in South Dade by Sept 2027 🐶 🐈

The air conditioned facility will have modern kennels, medical suites, play yards, an adoption center and spay/neuter clinic

The Medley site will be redeveloped into at least 100 income-restricted apartments as part of an exchange agreement with a developer (Unicapital Medley QOZB LLC) investing over $11.5 million to design and build the new shelter.
