Wanted to share this piece I co-produced and edited for #IAmDenver on former Mayor Federico Peña. Huge thanks to the Denver Post for sharing their archive photos with us.
He helped create @DENAirport and land the @Rockies in Denver. He revitalized LoDo, served as U.S. Sec. of Transportation & U.S. Sec. of Energy & so much more. Former Mayor Federico Peña reflects on his Denver legacy in this fantastic #IAmDenver piece. https://t.co/ZAcS4kOTEo
Honored to receive two Emmy nominations in the @HeartlandEmmy Chapter! My first year in this market and despite the crazy of 2020, it's been so great to work with #IAmDenver for the @CityofDenver. Shoutout to my colleagues @AmandaZitzman & @roxalexsoto on their nominations too!
Thank you to the wonderful people @NTWKCoffeeHouse for spending some time with me to chat about the awesome work they do. Here is the piece I put together for #IAmDenver
“It’s extremely important if there’s going to be any movement, any progress in our city, to have places where we’re seeing one another. That’s what it’s all about here,” says Ryan w/ @NTWKCoffeeHouse, which has welcomed people experiencing homelessness since 1982. #IAmDenver
My recent work has been nominated for 2 national government awards! 1 for Video Journalism alongside @emaxphoto. Another for the documentary I co-produced & edited on Japanese Internment. So grateful & thrilled those who shared their stories are receiving greater acknowledgment.
The true story of how Denver's Japanese American community came to be is a deeply touching saga of survival, endurance, and eventual triumph that everyone should know. Watch the first 2 mins of #IAMDENVER's documentary, A Thousand Paper Cranes & see the full feature this Weds.
A documentary on Japanese internment that I co-produced and edited for #IAMDENVER debuted last night at the Sie FilmCenter. Thank you to those who trusted us to share their stories. It was an honor to be able to recognize Denver’s Japanese American community.
Sending a huge thank you to @Peter_Trinh for sharing his one-man play based on his parent's immigration story. I truly hope your parents feel this video does their story justice. I solo shot, produced and edited this for #IAMDENVER.
“The refugee story is very important, especially today. It’s the most American story in the world- what makes America, America- the premise this country was built on.” Denver actor @Peter_Trinh talks “Boat Person” with #IAmDenver here: https://t.co/1aqbKuiKtw.
(cont) I put together the #IAMDENVER stories for Scottie Carlyle, a Denver drag queen who has been performing since 1963; and Anna Jo Garcia Haynes, who has served as an early childhood education advocate for over 50 years. Go check it out on Wewatta Street near Union Station!
Thrilled that some of my work alongside the #IAMDENVER team was picked up by "A Mile In My Shoes," a pop up empathy museum in Denver that literally lets you put on someone else's shoes and walk a mile in them as you listen to their audio story - similar to a podcast.
Hi everyone! Realized I haven’t posted in a while. Here’s an I’m-sorry-this-is-so-long life update. I left the news biz a few months ago hoping to pursue a different form of video producing and storytelling. I really wanted to get into long-form... https://t.co/dVnqm39G4X
