I’ve just had a piece about LANTITE titled ‘Literacy testing, ethics and advocacy’ published in Language Assessment Matters (newsletter of the Association for Language Testing and Assessment of Australia and New Zealand). https://t.co/8Gx9QgTJUz
Today I am taking the teacher equivalent of #NAPLAN... the #LANTITE. Apparrently even with a Masters and a PhD, I need to prove my literacy and numeracy before I'm permitted to teach.
I'm curious as to how this improves my teaching practice, or is it the $150? 🤔
How on earth can Dan Tehan be seen as having a reputation for “fixing problems in social services and education”? (@smh)
Our universities have been trashed. Over 12,000 uni workers have lost their jobs and women are bearing the brunt of LNP fee hikes for humanities

@tanya_plibersek From robodebt to education debt really. Thousands of student have been left with full HECs debts and cannot graduate but nobody seems to care. I know for a fact you don’t! #LANTITE has ruined lives. I feel robbed
Thread. I'm reading the report from May 2020 on #LANTITE, provided to the Department of Education, Skills and Employment by consulting firm @dandolopartners. In my view, it is a highly significant document in terms of what it reveals about the implementation of LANTITE.

Tests are apart of coursework sometimes, but 2 tests like this with only 3 attempts, 65 questions in a 120 mins after commencement of a degree is corrupt and ridiculous in my opinion. #lantite#education#teach 1/2
We already prove our literacy and numeracy skills in our assignments. In masters there is a criterion for spelling, grammar, punctuation etc. If we fail that criterion we fail the whole assignment. We do not need a test. #aussieED#auspol
