New paper out! Here, we explore how catchment characteristics and soil saturation behavior influence the spatial variation in base cation fluxes, likely reflecting how subsurface flow dynamics impacts soil development.

Using a combination of shallow groundwater wells and ion-exchange resins we measured water table fluctuations, elemental fluxes, and soil weathering extent. Soil saturation frequency was highly and positively correlated with cation fluxes and the degree of elemental depletion.
I am excited to share our latest publication on mesofauna's roles in litter decomposition and mineralization across a Nothofagus forest degradation gradient. Fresh from the oven! https://t.co/qU3hWOOR0z

And another beauty.... volcanic soil over some very meteorized metamorphic parent material near #huerquehue#chile national park.... with what it looks like a giant cat claw marks
