Can the human #brain control a #machine?
At the newly opened Guangxi Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) Technology Experience Center in Nanning, kids found their answer. Here, they can view bionic hands and knee joints, and watch the hands write and play the piano, learning how these devices help people with disabilities recover. They can also try fun brain-controlled interactive games, including focus tug-of-war, a brain-controlled popcorn machine, and brain-controlled racing car.
Complex science and technology are truly improving people's lives and becoming engaging, hands-on experiences.

Wait, a #recycling station that talks?
Not sure how to sort your household waste? In Nanning, you can just ask the AI-powered waste sorting station in your community. Log in by scanning a QR code, using facial recognition, or entering a phone number, and the hatch opens automatically. Residents sort and drop off their waste guided by AI voice instructions. Points earned from recycling can be redeemed for household items. The station is fully enclosed and automatically disinfects and neutralizes odors. That means no smells to attract rats or insects, and the surroundings stay clean and hygienic.

Latest data: #PingluCanal cargo throughput tops 1 million tonnes!
In September, the canal's first month of operation, cargo throughput at Nanning Port already reached 668,400 tonnes. That's not the only change. In just one month, the number of registered cargo ships on the Pinglu Canal climbed from 570 to 831. Currently, more than 30 ships sail through the canal every day, and that number is expected to exceed 100 within a year.
So where will all these ships come from? In Hengzhou, Nanning, a shipyard covering about 20 hectares is under construction, with its first phase expected to begin operations in February next year. It will build 5,000-tonne green intelligent vessels suited to the Pinglu Canal, and will also export charging and battery-swapping technology, port and waterway technology, and smart equipment to ASEAN countries.

What does a parent-child outing designed specifically for children with disabilities look like?
At Jiangnan Park in Nanning, a group of children with disabilities, accompanied by specialist teachers and volunteers, strolled through the park with their parents. The kids doodled on a 10-meter-long scroll, made lacquer fans, and viewed creative handiworks and heritage crafts. They also joined picture-book sessions and watched a movie alongside their parents. Smiles and warmth filled the scene. One parent shared that seeing her child play freely and try new things made her especially happy.
