No one really talks about the huge shock you get transitioning into your 20s you get when the narrative very harshly changes into ‘you have your whole life ahead of you’ to ‘this is all you could have done - you are a failure’
Being a first gen doctor, you stumble at literally every step on your path towards a successful career and tbh this exercise of trial and error is very exhausting.
It escalates when patients bring 5/6 year old girls and insist on getting them seen by ‘female’ doctors because they are ‘women’ in our desi setup; absolutely horrifying
