@lis_grievances I assume they were assuming that the non-librarians who will work with the new employee are also talented, and they wanted to acknowledge that, but forgot to make the edit.
@goraina@TransLifeline This is amazing! I feel even better now that half my purchases for my school library are your books! (Ok, maybe not half, but... close)
@FiveThirtyEight Since this election is dragging on, I have a question: if this election had been popular vote instead of electoral college, at what point would the election have been confidently called for a winner? Election night? A week later?
@NPR I have heard several stories about how things like movies are sparsely attended because of "corona virus fears." Is it possible to say "precautions" instead of "fears"? People are following CDC advice and "fears" minimizes what people are doing. Some may hear it as overreacting.
@radiomike369 @benkort @rgrov1013 @jenniferlagarde Kids (and adults) adjust to different forms of organization all the time. Each grocery store is slightly different, the bathrooms are in different places in different schools, some libraries use LCC. Better to teach how to ask for help.
@LousyLibrarian I have a magnet wall in my middle school library and I have to monitor it constantly to watch for dirty words spelled out in brightly colored refrigerator letters. I also had to learn Spanish dirty words.
@rodrigochill@belVita This literally just happened to me, too. I bought some THIS MORNING and now it is in my feed. Must be seeing my shopper's card info!
@lis_grievances I had a similar thing with a school library position. They said I would tell me in a week, but never did. I called and got nothing. The first day of school came and went, so I knew I did not get it. It hurt. We live in a digital world. Send an auto rejection at the very least!
I am loving On Becoming A God in Central Florida! I feel like I should be hearing more about this show. It is fantastic. @kirstendunst is superb in this and I love watching her. Watch the show!
Is your institution a rural museum or library? You might be eligible for new grants from the USDA that are meant to help develop "essential community facilities" in rural areas. More info here: https://t.co/Za4jtc00bU
The greatest trick the devil ever played was
convincing women they had to cook to be valued
while also ensuring
their families would never like anything they cooked.
Damned if you cook, damned if you donβt.
