Our discussion focused on strengthening institutional collaboration and exploring opportunities for strategic synergy in service delivery and digital transformation. As we continue to modernize Nigeria’s identity infrastructure, partnerships across critical sectors like power remain essential to driving efficiency, inclusion, and national development.
I congratulate her on her appointment and look forward to a productive working relationship.
Honoured to have attended MOSIP Connect 2026, a global gathering of digital identity leaders shaping the future of inclusive and trusted identity ecosystems.
During the conference, I delivered a keynote address highlighting Nigeria’s deliberate transition from NIMC 1.0 which is a scalable, interoperable, privacy-by-design identity platform, is transitioning to NIMS 2.0.
This evolution will enable seamless integration across sectors, support selective data sharing, and adapt to future technologies — all while preserving national ownership and strengthening public trust.
Our partnership with MOSIP is strategic and forward-looking. It aligns firmly with Nigeria’s legal frameworks, our Data Protection Act, and our commitment to openness, sovereignty, and meaningful global collaboration.
Nigeria is not only adopting MOSIP; we are positioning ourselves to contribute our scale, operational experience, and innovation back to the global community.
The conversation on digital identity is no longer about access alone, it is about resilience, interoperability, and empowering citizens in a rapidly evolving digital world. Nigeria is proud to be at the forefront of that transformation.

Whatever you do, strive for self-reliance & freedom from dependency. Every person should have a trade, a skill or a service to exchange. Borrowing from my mother’s (Amma) advice, the world does not back a lazy man
Earlier today, i also paid a courtesy visit to the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Joash Ojo Amupitan in the spirit of institutional engagement and mutual respect.
Earlier today, I was hosted alongside my team by Dr. Bernard M. Doro, the Honourable Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, for a high-level engagement focused on enhancing data synergy to boost social protection efforts across Nigeria.
During our meeting, we emphasized how the National Identity Management Commission supports the Ministry’s key agencies, such as NASSCO, NCTO, and GEEP, by providing the enrollment and verification of 11,183,871 usable National Identification Number (NIN) on the Social Register.
This partnership remains a cornerstone of impactful humanitarian response, strategic poverty reduction, and the accountable delivery of public services.
NIMC recognizes that because social vulnerability is fluid, it requires identity systems that are consistent, credible, and updated in real-time.
High-quality data is indispensable for improving project targeting, ensuring transparency, and making sure government aid reaches the most vulnerable citizens without delay.
In alignment with the Renewed Hope Agenda, we remain steadfast in our commitment to this collaboration, recognizing that effective leadership depends on trustworthy data and responsible national planning.
