This afternoon I bid a warm farewell to H.E. Ambassador Mohamed Gad, whose steadfast support—from insightful guidance to facilitating pivotal collaborations—has been central to AUDA-NEPAD’s achievements.

At the #NeTT4Peace Workshop on “Charting the Future of Peace Operations Post-Berlin Ministerial through an African Lens”, H.E. Mohamed Gad of #Egypt, emphasised the peace, security & development nexus, lauded and called for a more strengthened AU-UN partnership in peace missions
And highlighting the need for bridging the gap between early warning and early response to assist countries in responding to the emerging threats as well as buliding strong and resilient State’s institutions (3/3)

Had the pleasure of chairing the AUPSC meeting on countering terrorism. I highlighted the imp of a comprehensive preventive approach to address the root causes of terrorism as well as the need to fast track the operationalization of Malabo Decisions and Abuja Declaration (1/2)
Had the honor to lead the PSC Troika to meet with H.E. Philemon Yang, President of the UNGA @UN_PGA to discuss the implementation of the pact of the future and the cooperation between the #AU and the #UN
As part of outreach to popularise the PSC and its work, the Public Lecture sought to establish the foundation and a solid link for enhanced collaboration between the AU and the African diaspora, particularly on research on peace, security and development in Africa. 2/2
On 16 October 2024, the #AUPSC held its First Ever Public Lecture outside Africa, and second of its kind at Yale University’s Jackson School of Global Affairs, within the context of the celebrations of the PSC 20th Anniversary. 1/2
The meeting underscored the importance of enhancing cooperation and collaboration between the PSC and the Africa Group in New York to promote the AU peace and security agenda. 2/2
