Social Reformer, Jammu & Kashmir
I recently visited a school in Jammu. The building was there, the enrolment register was full, the smart board was on. But the teacher was not in the classroom. She was in the office, uploading data on a portal. That one scene explains the crisis of Indian education today. Schools are running, but education has lost its way.
We have measured education through buildings, enrolment and portals, and we have forgotten the only thing that makes a school - a teacher who has the time, energy and dignity to https://t.co/zvg0WVoFV8
A social reformer is not born in a spotlight. They rise from the ground of everyday struggles. They see the pain, hear the silence, and decide:
"I will not wait for someone else. I will be the change."
You don't need a title, wealth, or perfection to reform society.
Our hearts go out to everyone affected by this devastating flash flood in Rasuwa. The situation is deeply concerning . We stand in solidarity with Nepal and all those impacted. Please stay safe, and our thoughts are with the responders working tirelessly on the ground.
Deeply concerned by the sudden flash floods that have struck Rasuwa (Timure, Syabrubesi and surrounding areas) this morning, with waters surging from the Tibetan side into the Bhote Koshi and Trishuli rivers.
Significant damage reported to settlements, infrastructure and livelihoods; several security personnel remain unaccounted for, and downstream communities in Nuwakot, Dhading, Gorkha and Chitwan are on high alert.
Our thoughts are with all those affected. Search, rescue and relief operations are underway.
The IFRC stands ready to mobilize support as needed, in close coordination with the Nepal Red Cross Society and national authorities, to assist communities in this critical time.
“Either I will come back after hoisting the Tricolour, or I will come back wrapped in it. But I will be back for sure.”
— Captain Vikram Batra
These weren’t just words.
They were courage. Conviction. Duty.
A nation’s soul is shaped by people who speak like this… and then live those words.
Not a day goes by without being inspired by him.
We will remember.
