@emilycainlb Trends like this really do reignite my faith in humanity. Its nice to see positivity encouraged on apps that sometimes get a little too toxic for most.
@marissa_lopez22 I think with how accessible tiktok is to the younger generation and those at risk, learning information like this is integral and fantastic to see actually work in real life.
@Jacksles29@motherboard I highly doubt that hologram based entertainment will have a long term effect. It's a cool idea don't get me wrong but I agree that it is nothing compared to the real experience.
When looking at articles like this and the news about how damaging social media can be for young people's mental health, it is concerning that some people do pressure kids to join social media despite the effects on mental health. #csulbsmc

@Joel029384743 A name change will never fix the damage Facebook has done across the internet. This only alienates people and doesn't look good considering how much has been exposed.
@Joel029384743 Honestly I agree with the title of the article fully, a new name won't help fix the problem Facebook has caused. The only thing that will work is actual change in how the company is structured.
@BenJOUR_ I think this is even worse when it was an officer who oversaw Ethics within the force. You would think those trained in ethical behavior would practice yet no.
@emilycainlb@verge I think this article really shows how amazing yet terrifyingly talented some internet sluths can be when they want to find out something. It makes you wonder how quickly they can do things like this.
@Jacksles29 I think that due to Instagrams feed set up, it can also be hard for Activists to see what is going on currently due to the lack of a proper chronological feed on Instagram.
I think since social media sites can't do it properly there should be some form of regulation around these sites. However I do think we need to careful when coming up with regulations for these sites. #csulbsmc

@BenJOUR_ I agree, it is similar to Facebook. I personally think it might be the engagement inflammatory posts found in conservative spheres recieve. I hope a fix for this problem can come soon yet I highly doubt any speedy solutions in the near future.
@emilycainlb@NewYorker This will indeed be an interesting experiment for Raya to undertake. To see if they can truly balance out user safety and the exclusivity that may occur as a result. Will be keeping a close eye on this.
@Jacksles29 This is a very interesting article considering how politicized and weaponised social media had become in recent years. However I have no idea if there can be a time where for both sides to agree on a concern to focus on.
@MartinCSULB I can already imagine the legal challenges to this website and how they won't turn out all that well if they go down the same route as Parler with the rampant content issues.
The murder of Sir Davis Amess is a tragic event and he should have never received such abuse online. Yet moving to try and remove anonymity online, at least in UK, doesn't feel like the right move. #csulbsmc

@BenJOUR_ I couldn't agree more. In a time where there is more surveillance on the general population than ever it seems people who commit crimes magically forget that whilst showcasing said crime to the world.
@emilycainlb@VICE I think the resurgence of online personas separate from people's real lives is good for creators mental health yet there is a concern for what some people may be hiding as well as the possibility of doxxing.
@MartinCSULB I hate how this is a trend on so many social media apps as of recent since it has been proven so many times this sort of speech can inspire real harm in the world. How platforms can put profit over people disgusts yet doesn't surprise me.
@Jacksles29@TechCrunch This is genuinely exciting and reminds me of the time social media platforms were attempting to make innovative changes. I will have to watch this development!
