کیا محترمہ بتا سکتی ہیں کہ 18 فروری کو یہ پابندی کیوں لگائی گئی؟
نہ صرف یہ بلکہ اس رپورٹ کو بھی ہر جگہ سے ہٹا دیا گیا۔
یہ کوئی انفرادی مسئلہ نہیں۔ پاکستان میں مذہب کارڈ اور بلاسفمی کارڈ کا استعمال عامر لیاقت، ہارون رشید اور اوریا مقبول جان کے دور سے چلتا آیا ہے، فرق صرف یہ ہے کہ وہ کھل کر پروگرام کرتے تھے۔ باریک واردات ڈال کر بعد میں یہ کہنا کہ ہم نے تو محض رپورٹنگ کی، کسی کو ذمہ داری سے بری نہیں کرتا۔

صرف اتنا بتا دیجیے کہ 18 فروری کے بعد جیو نے آپ کو کورٹ رپورٹنگ سے کیوں ہٹایا؟

ان شاء اللہ کوئی آسمانی مدد بھی آئے گی، اور وہ ایجنسیوں کی رپورٹس بھی کوئی نہ کوئی نکال ہی دے گا۔

مہذب دنیا میں ایسا ہوتا تو آپ کا ٹرائل ہوتا، مگر یہاں چمچے “مور پاور” لکھ رہے ہیں ,کاہے کا مور پاور؟ نفرت اور شر انگیزی کا مور پاور؟

Our daughter, Rachel Corrie, was killed in 2003 in Gaza, while trying to protect a Palestinian home facing illegal destruction by the Israeli military. She was 23 years old. The massive, armored Caterpillar D-9 bulldozer that crushed her was operated by two Israeli soldiers and manufactured in the United States. It was the same type of militarized bulldozer that US presidents from George W. Bush through to Donald Trump have delivered to Israel.
Today, as the destruction of Palestinian homes has only become more commonplace, not to mention the horror of Israel’s genocide, Senator Bernie Sanders will force a vote in the Senate to try to end this cycle of death by banning the transfer of D-9 bulldozers to Israel. We hope he will not take this stand alone.
No policy can bring back those taken from us by these actions—children and other loved ones. But the Senate now has an opportunity to honor the memories of our daughter, other Americans, and thousands of Palestinian civilians killed, and to show that their deaths, and all the destruction, will no longer be condoned and funded. We hope those elected to represent us, the American people, understand the message that voting to block these D-9 bulldozers will send. This will not be a symbolic gesture, but a concrete step toward the protection of human life.

There has been a lot of hue and cry as to why the government did not provide enough information to local journalists on the Iran-US talks.

Well, it’s not the government’s job to help journalists. The govt was doing what it was supposed to do.

For local journalists not being able to report as desired by many, it has to do with their own capacity or lack of it.

In Pakistan, there is no concept of specialised reporting. Today, you are giving weather updates, tomorrow, you are assigned to cover the FO briefing and the next morning the Parliament session.

To report on Iran-US talks, one needs a far broader understanding of geopolitics, the intricacies within, and several other factors.

And this requires a lot of study, homework and expirence.

Why do our local journalists struggle to report Islamabad talks when little or no information is available Because they were looking at the event only through Pakistan’s lens.

Met several foreign journalists during the talks, and you know what? Most of them were Iran or Middle East experts with extensive experience in reporting.

So those media outlets don’t just deploy their primetime anchors or irrelevant people to cover every event.

Lastly, in any profession, the key is to set your own goals, work on your skills and enhance your capacity.

If journalists are relying on the government to help with their assignments, then perhaps they should consider leaving this job.

سمجھ سے باہر ہے کہ لوگ اتنی فکری بددیانتی کیسے کر سکتے ہے جہاں سب جانتے ہے کہ ٹی ایل پی پُر امن مظاہرین نہیں بلکہ ایک مذہبی انت��ا پسند جتھا ہے۔درجنوں وڈیوز موجود ہیں جہاں ٹی ایل پی کے جتھے املاک جلا رہے ہیں اور پولیس والوں پر بدترین تشدد کررہے بشمول ایک ویڈیو کے جہاں ایک پولیس والے کو قتل کرنے کے بعد بھی اس کو مار رہے ہے۔ یہ وہ لوگ ہے جو خود آئین میں دیئے گئے due process پر یقین نہیں رکھتے بلکہ سر تن سے جُدا کے مُتشدد نعرے سے جتھوں کے ذریعے ماورائے عدالت قتل کو فروغ دیتے ہے اور معاشرے میں مسلمانوں اور اقلیتوں کی زندگی living hell بناتے ہے۔ یہ سب کچھ وہ اسٹیبلشمنٹ کی backing کے ساتھ کرتے ہے لیکن آج اچھے بھلے لوگوں نے ان کو مظلوم بنا کر پیش کیا ہے۔

سول سوسائٹی کو تو ہمیشہ ظلم کے خلاف کھڑا ہونا چاہیے، ظالموں کے ساتھ نہیں۔ ہمارا راستہ پُر امن مزاحمت کا ہے، ہم کیسے پُر تشدد مذہبی انتہا پسندوں کا موازنہ پُر امن مظاہرین کے ساتھ کر سکتے ہے؟ لوگوں کو گمراہ نا کرے: ٹی ایل پی نا تو unarmed ہے اور نا ہی وہ اپنے عل��وہ کسی کو انسان تصور کرتے ہے۔

ریاست کی ہمیشہ کی طرح heavy-handedness پر بحث کی جا سکتی ہے (اور اس کے نتائج پر بھی) لیکن ایک پُر تشدد مافیا کا پُر امن مظاہرین سے موازنہ کرنا intellectual dishonesty کے ساتھ انتہائی خطرناک false equivalence بھی ہے۔

ابھی سب سے اہم سوال یہ ہے کہ کیا ریاست نے ایک پالیسی decision لی ہے کہ اس disease کا cure ڈھونڈنا ہے یا کیا یہ سب کچھ ایک سوچے سمجھے منصوبے کے تحت کیا گیا تاکہ ٹی ایل پی کو بھی political capital ملے اور اسٹیبلشمنٹ اپنے امریکن masters کو بھی دکھا سکے کہ انتہا پسند جماعتوں پر crackdown کر رہے ہے۔ پاکستان کی استبلشمیمت کی تاریخ double games ہے۔ اتنے سادھے نا بنو کہ اتنے وقت بعد اچانک ٹی ایل پی کو فلسطین یاد آگیا۔۔۔ ملا ملٹری الائنس آج بھی قائم ہے۔
