α-synuclein (aSyn) interactions with physiological lipid membranes lead to:
1⃣Membrane disintegration
2⃣ Lipid incorporation by aSyn fibrils
3⃣ Increased fibril aggregation
4⃣ Increased neuronal uptake of lipid-associated fibrils (vs. aSyn-only)

Our paper out in @CommsBio shows interaction of αSyn with physiological #lipid #membranes leads to increased uptake of lipid-associated #fibrils compared to aSyn only fibrils into #neurons, disintegration of membranes and forms lipid coated αSyn fibrils. Link below. #parkinsons
