The WNBA has become a classless cartoon of what professional sports is supposed to represent.

Instead of building a great product around competition, talent and basketball, the league has buried itself in woke agendas, racial division, political activism and nonstop controversy.

The product feels cheap. The brand feels toxic. And despite all the attention and hype, serious questions about league-wide profitability remain.

You can’t constantly divide and alienate the very people you expect to buy tickets, watch games and support your product.

The WNBA had an incredible opportunity to grow women’s basketball into something special. Instead, it keeps getting in its own way.

This isn’t sustainable. Eventually, the product has to speak for itself.

SEE IT: The tense moment leading up to former NBA player Enes Kanter Freedom being escorted out of a WNBA game after a confrontation with Chicago Sky guard Natasha Cloud.

Freedom says the back-and-forth started after he celebrated a 3-pointer by Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham. A few possessions later, he says Cloud turned toward him and repeatedly cursed.

"Natasha came back and started screaming and yelling and said, 'She's not gonna sleep with you.'"

Security ultimately escorted Freedom out of Sunday night's Sky-Fever game after the pair's last confrontation.
