Meet the animal kingdom's newest feline!

A kitten found on the side of a road in Bolivia turned out to be a species never before recognized by science.

The tiny wild cat was initially mistaken for a house cat before researchers analyzed its DNA and identified the tilcayo tiger cat, the first new wild cat species discovered in more than a century.

The original cat now lives at an animal refuge in Bolivia, while the size of its population in the wild remains a mystery.
