@RealHoagy@russhjelm@Weinsteinlaw That's the point. The 14th Amendment finally settled the question of what defined citizenship. It's been the legal constitutional standard for the last 160 years. Without it, there would need to be a new determination, which might exclude many people who are currently citizens.
@LeboTeacher@stitchphysics And now, it's even more difficult because teachers have to decipher whether the students wrote the essay themselves as opposed to having AI do it. Gone are the days when teachers could assign essays for homework. Now with AI, teachers have all this extra monitoring to do.
@1StarAtaTyme@theLUCASTDS@B2992PC None of them do. It's clearly apparent that this hatred towards teachers that these fools have is the result of their own poor experiences with education, which explains their ignorance.
@ISmokeEmWet@theLUCASTDS We all know that's not true. If it were, then you would be doing it since you definitely fall into the dumbest people category.
@Wonderbarn@BIGCOACHO_@anymanfitness You clearly missed the point. They were saying that they had to teach themselves because the teacher wasn't doing a good job of teaching them. But because they still wanted to get high grades, they had to learn the content on their own despite having a bad teacher.
@BIGCOACHO_@anymanfitness As a teacher, I had many Honors/AP students who would tell me about other teachers who they said couldn't teach. They would say that the only reasons they were getting A-grades was because they were basically teaching themselves. The OP here was obviously one of those teachers.
@BowieTheus@beermanFL@LasVegasLocally When sports teams move to a new city, that means more people from that place are also moving to that city, which also means more traffic, higher crime, homelessness, higher prices--all the bad things about big cities, but still none of the good things for people living here.
@BowieTheus@beermanFL@LasVegasLocally And now they're coming to Vegas and bringing those same problems with them, which already exist, but now will be worse. But y'all keep thinking this is a good thing. Be careful what you ask for. Las Vegas was much better before they started trying to turn it into a sports city.
@RydenBets@LasVegasLocally The stats show that there are indeed fewer people visiting Las Vegas and going to the Strip casinos. The revenue is coming from the people who still go, though lower in number, still being willing to spend higher amounts of money, but they would still be going regardless.
@NWTacoLover@LasVegasLocally Las Vegas has always been a place where people can spend a lot of money if they want, but it was also a place where people didn't have to spend a lot of money to enjoy themselves. The idea that Vegas should now only appeal to people wanting to spend a lot of money is ridiculous.
@maxaminion@chrstnhfl@LasVegasLocally Except that people who live here also have to pay sales tax. And we're paying more of it because we're buying more things year-round as opposed to people who are here for only a few days. So how exactly is it less of a burden?
@weiss1163770@zaqud1967@miles_commodore Doing nothing about the Great Depression wasn't an option. Not interfering in the free market was the philosophy of his Republican predecessor (Hoover) who lost re-election and became unpopular. When people are suffering, they need help, not lectures about "rugged individualism."
