On this day, 102 years ago, the 10,000,000th Ford Model T rolled off the assembly line. Famed Ford racing driver Frank Kulick drove it from New York to San Francisco on the Lincoln Highway, the only coast-to-coast highway at the time.

On this day, 87 years ago, the legendary Al Unser was born. Al became one of the greatest drivers in Indianapolis 500 history. Over a remarkable career, “Big Al” captured 4 Indy 500 victories (1970, 1971, 1978, and 1987), earning his place among an elite group of 4-time winners.

On this day, 116 years ago, the Los Angeles Motordrome opened. The 1st track built entirely from wooden 2×4s & featuring dramatically steep. This daring design allowed early race cars to achieve speeds approaching 100 mph, an astonishing feat in the early 20th century.
