No matter which of them wins on Nov. 5, it appears there will be no fundamental disruption of a system in which the rich get richer and the poor get poorer, tens of millions of people lack health care, corporate power continues its reign of economic terror, climate change remains unmitigated, 60 per cent of Americans live paycheck to paycheck, and brute force continues to be our main problem-solving modality domestically and internationally.

She is less dangerous in the short term, but they both represent a system that leaves the majority of Americans to fend for themselves within an unjust economy and an increasingly dangerous world.

I listened to Trump's rally tonight and he sent out his first round of volleys against Kamala. She won't be able to win with just "vibes" and "joy."

All of us need to sharpen our arguments.

He's big on scaring people (particularly in border states) with the horrible stories about murders committed by illegal immigrants.

THE FACT IS:

The vast, vast majority of murders in this country are committed by people born in the United States

AND

they are committed with guns that Trump and his appointed judges always sought to make more easily accessible.

Her views on gun safety (including an assault weapon ban) do far more to protect our families from violent crime than he would.

.@RobertKennedyJr being left off the ballot in NY because of address technicality having nothing to do with this race is absurd .

The American people should be exposed to as many qualified candidates as there are running, and no political party, court or media platform should have the right to declare what qualifies. The U.S. Constitution already does that.

From the toxicity of our food supply to dangerousness of our agricultural methods, from rising hunger to diminished opportunities among our young, from corporate capture of our government to the militarism and economic imperialism of our foreign policy, every candidate should feel the need to respond to the list of moral crises in our midst.

Anything someone gets away with not talking about as a candidate, they’ll feel no need to act on when they are president.
