Podcast bros are gonna HATE me for this, but listening to @joerogan ain't making YOU SMARTER.
I'm not gonna tell you Rogan is the greatest, and I'm not gonna tell you his podcast is garbage either; the man is GOOD at what he does, and that's EXACTLY "the problem".
"Three hours of discipline content produced ZERO minutes of ACTION. You get the feeling of doing the work without doing the work, and your brain can't tell the difference."

@RobertGreene The trap is that "learning" became a word people use to justify staying in places that aren't going anywhere. Real learning has a direction. If you can't say what the knowledge is for, you're not learning. You're collecting.

You're not listening to learn.
You're listening because it makes you feel like the SMARTEST guy in the building.
Joe Rogan makes you feel like collecting RANDOM FACTS is the same thing as LEVERAGE.
It isn't.
@Markmanson Letting go it's the most deliberate thing a person does. It's hundreds of small active decisions nobody saw you make. The fight? It was you choosing silence over ego. The debt? You saying no while everyone around said yes. None of it looks like anything. That's why it works.
@RobertGreene Boredom is just the cover story. You're alone with yourself and there's nothing between you and whatever you've been avoiding thinking about. The phone, the scroll, the next episode, it's anesthesia. And the reason it works so well is that it looks nothing like running away.
@LewisHowes It still happened. You still remember. The difference is whether the memory runs you or you just carry it. Most people confuse forgetting with healing. It's not. It's remembering without flinching.
@Codie_Sanchez The problem is most people inherited the program from someone who never figured it out either. And they never stopped to check if it was even theirs, and most of the programming happened while we were busy blaming the circumstances.
@wealth_director Stubbornness disguised as loyalty to a decision is still just stubbornness. The smartest people you know changed course 'n' times before they got it right. The ones who didn't are still defending a plan that stopped working years ago.
@Markmanson The thing nobody tells you is that satisfaction isn't about getting what you're missing. It's about stopping long enough to realize the thing you already have is the thing someone else can't sleep without.
