tbh this is such a great example of how sometimes Thomas fans are too realism-pilled for their own good. The implication that the characters need some kind of train-practical justification behind their emotions is wild to me.

That's what makes abuse like this so terrifying, and this entire sequence so harrowing. It showcases the way abusers control the narrative around them. The way they make everyone else doubt the victim before the victim has a chance to share their side of the story.

People saw Ragatha lose her temper once and immediately decided she must have been abusive. Instead of questioning what could push someone to that point with Jax.

A charming abuser doesn't need everyone to love them. They just need everyone to distrust their victim. Get them isolated to the point they don’t feel like they have anyone anymore, no one reaches out. And push them to suicide, in Ribbit’s case .
