Two appointments we are thrilled to share. Adam Wierbinski was named assistant principal on June 2; Patrick Kapperman was named principal on May 5. They, along with Assistant Principal Karen Kibler, will make up the dream team to lead our school in 2026-27!

Teddy Good placed 3rd at the Student Startups business competition at UB. 12 teams pitched their ideas in front of a panel of industry professional judges. We would also like to thank Ryan Fortune, who competed last year for offering valuable encouragement and support to Teddy.
The Middle School Tech Club competed in the annual ECC Tech Wars competition. In the Mousetrap Car competition, Zoe Coleman earned 1st place and Emerson Grady earned 3rd! All of our students worked hard to complete their projects in time for competition day.

Kudos to our AMS WEB leaders and their advisors for organizing the Fifth-Grade Welcome Tours for Smallwood Drive and Windermere Boulevard. Fifth-graders took a field trip to AMS and worked in small groups with a WEB leader to get a glimpse of what sixth grade will be like.

Our SDS Vocal/General Music teacher Julie Furlong received the Buffalo State Music Dept. General Music Educator of the Year Award. The award was presented by Dr. Victoria Furby, Professor and Coordinator of Music Education, as well as Dr. Rick Fleming, Music Department Chair.
