A female lioness was left in a bad way following a territorial fight. She's a member of the Sopa Pride of the Maasai Mara, and while her injuries didn't affect her ability to walk, they had already gotten infected. The clock was ticking.
Our team in the area, the SWT/KWS Mara Mobile Vet Unit, reached her and set to work. They sedated her, cleaned her wounds and packed them with green clay, and then administered drugs to help her heal.
One emergency operation later, she is expected to make a full recovery, brilliant news for a species which numbers just 23,000 to 39,000 lions in the wild today.
We established our first Mobile Vet Unit in partnership with KWS to give injured animals a second chance. Today, seven units across Kenya have attended 15,119 veterinary cases - and your donations make it all possible: https://t.co/NVpsbuFaAn
It's #WorldGiraffeDay. Come for a walk through with Pips.
She is nine months old, and the youngest giraffe orphan in our care. We rescued her in September 2025 after her mother was killed by lions. She had been hiding alone for days, slipping in to drink at a water trough and disappearing again.
Pips is in esteemed company. The first giraffe we raised to the wild was Kiko, rescued in 2015 and now continuing his rewilding at Lewa. Twiggy, another, joined the wild around the time Pips turned up, and has been seen in the company of a boyfriend.
Pips is still at the beginning of her journey. Read her story and help support Kenya's giraffe with an adoption: https://t.co/PhHUL6MgVg
“Fantasy” - Aldo Nova
The song became his biggest success, peaking at #23 on the Billboard Hot 100. The album itself climbed to #8 on the Billboard 200. VH1 later ranked it at #78 on its list of the Greatest Hard Rock Songs.

THEO VON: “Was there anybody who was immune to COVID-19?”
DR. MCCULLOUGH: “There’s one adult group. You’re going to laugh.”
[Theo Von listens closely for the reveal]
DR. MCCULLOUGH: “Smokers… They got very mild cases. And they don’t get long COVID.”
THEO VON: “Why?”
MCCULLOUGH: “Because smokers maintain a level of nicotine in the bloodstream… Smoking blocks the spike protein. It’s amazing. I thought smokers were going to go down.”
THEO VON: “Do you think that’s a good idea [to use nicotine patches] on a regular basis?”
DR. MCCULLOUGH: “I think [it’s a good idea] if they have long COVID... Nicotine, don’t forget, is a nootropic. A nootropic is a drug that makes the brain function more effectively... It’s addictive, but it’s not harmful to the human body... Nicotine patches are perfectly safe.”
Wonderful, breaking news!
Early this morning, ex-orphan Melia returned to introduce a brand new baby girl to Head Keeper Benjamin and the rest of the Ithumba team.
Moon, as we’ve named her, is Melia’s second baby. She is a lovely little elephant, bold and brimming with character.
More to come, but we wanted to share the news in real time. Supporters like you make these stories possible: enabling us to rescue orphans like Melia, dedicate years to their recovery, and help them reclaim their place in the wild – paving the way for a new generation of wild elephants, like baby Moon.

When our orphans return to the wild, how do they find a herd?
Slowly. Reintegration isn't a single moment – it happens over years. At our Reintegration Units in Tsavo and Umani Springs, orphans grow steadily more independent, spending days and then nights away, until the wild becomes home. Even then, many still choose return to the place and people that raised them every now and again.
Most don't go it alone. They join herds of ex-orphans who went wild before them, or form their own, made up of other ex-orphans they grew up with – the friendships made at the unit become the family they live wild with. Suguta lives out in Tsavo with the same four friends she's had since the Nursery.
As for who leads – matriarchy settles the way it does in any wild herd: through age, temperament, and the respect of the others. Herds aren’t one amorphous unit either, groups will splinter off and then rejoin, and these splinter herds will have their own mini-leaders.

Dr. Ben Carson urges, "Do NOT allow what was done during COVID to be 'swept under the rug'."
"Dr. Fauci admitted there was no science behind ANY of what he was saying."
"We know the side effects from COVID vaccinations far exceed anything else in the last 30 years combined."
Meet Wangalla.
She is the most enchanting little elephant – bright, curious, and brimming with character. Rescued as a newborn, she was found amongst a herd of zebras and has now been adopted by our resident flock of birds. She is but one of the many tiny elephants saved by ‘Misheck’s magic,’ the care of one of our most gifted Keepers.
Discover how family has played a pivotal role in Wanjalla's recovery and how you can join hers by adopting her: https://t.co/loS0hJVEzx
Tucker Carlson had an episode PROVING the skies are being sprayed with aluminum and other poisonous chemicals.
A former EPA head backs it.
RFK Jr confirms it.
There needs to be an IMMEDIATE federal ban in all 50 states.
Tytan is a rhino. Notty is a zebra. Together, they are inseparable.
Both are orphans at our Nairobi Nursery and both were rescued in infancy. In their sheltered corner of Kenya, this peas-in-a-pod duo are growing fast: Tytan is already sharpening his horn against tree stumps. Notty met some wild zebra recently, but she wasn't ready to join them, preferring her human caregivers.
We rescue and raise orphans across many species – not just elephants. Their family at the Nursery is whichever animals are growing up alongside them.

A lot of newer followers often ask me who Tina was, the dog that means so much to me.
This is her beautiful story
A lot of older followers will also enjoy seeing her big, beautiful face I'm sure.
The plan is to get everyone sick from bio-engineered ticks that make it impossible for you to eat meat, without getting violently ill. Then, they'll offer you a vaccine. Why is this not considered domestic terrorism?
Woman who been raises horses for 30 years in Ohio says “I've never had to deal with these many ticks”
“I can't take the tick situation anymore. The tick situation in this state, there are ticks everywhere”
Almost everyone says this is due to Bill Gates. The reason why is because The Gates Foundation is funding Tick Research
The Gates Foundation funded a biotech firm called Oxitec for research on genetically modifying cattle ticks
Farmers claim to be funding “boxes of ticks”on their properties
People think because Bill Gates is funding tick research there is a high likelihood we would see a huge increase in ticks. This would mean Gates could sell more of his products to deal with the problem
There is a well documented tick surge hitting Ohio hard right now, spring 2026, especially for livestock owners
Ohio has new tick species. Ohio went from basically 1 medically important tick species 20 years ago to having 5 now. Some of these populations grow very fast
Lyme disease surge: Cases skyrocketed from ~40 in 2010 → 415 in 2020 → over 2,800 in 2025, with 2026 already trending high
Keep in mind a Lyme disease vaccine is actively in the works
So without the ticks, they can’t sell their vaccines
You’ll never guess who’s making it, Pfizer and Valneva
