Mushoku Tensei is the best isekai of all time. I said what I said.

The character development, world-building, storytelling, character relationships, and long-term consequences of the characters’ choices are on another level.

Rudeus doesn’t just get transported to another world and instantly become overpowered. We actually watch him grow, fail, make terrible decisions, learn from them, and slowly become a better person.

The world also feels genuinely alive. Characters have their own goals, cultures, histories, and problems that continue to exist even when Rudeus isn’t around.

And the way the story connects events from Rudeus’ childhood to things that happen years later is just incredible.

You can disagree with me, but if we’re talking character development + world-building + long-term storytelling, I’m taking Mushoku Tensei.
