This morning, we laid to rest the daughter of our brother, The Director of the Heart Center and Head of Cardiac Surgery at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital (UMTH). Dr Jibril Khalil who lost her life to a stray bullet at home.

The reckless and dangerous trend of indiscriminate shooting during celebrations must be banned immediately in Maiduguri.

This senseless act is claiming innocent lives and putting entire communities at risk. There is no justification for turning moments of joy into potential tragedies.

Anyone in possession of a firearm must be held to the highest standards of responsibility and accountability. The government must act decisively enforce strict laws, prosecute offenders, and ensure this menace is completely eradicated.

In this day and age and we see the Haraam being made easy and the Halal being made difficult. Then what will happen because of this? Wide spread corruption may Allah ﷻ protect us.

We have a brother here who is in dire need of our help.

He is a pharmacy student in India. He used to be sponsored by his mother, but life happened, things came up and she could no longer continue sponsoring him.

He became stranded in school. He is currently a 300-level student. The school gave him a deadline to pay his fees, warning that if he failed to meet it, they would stop issuing his visa and not allow him to sit for exams. Unfortunately, he couldn’t meet the deadline.

He has now passed the deadline, his visa has expired, and he cannot renew it since he is no longer considered a student. He is currently at high risk of being arrested by the police and detained in a deportation camp until his family can provide a return ticket.

He has written to the Kano State Government several times for assistance, but he has received no response.

He then decided to reach out to a few people—including me, for help. He first contacted me towards the end of last year, but I took my time to respond because I was quietly verifying his story. After my findings, I can confirm that his story is genuine and convincing.

He has already missed the school’s payment deadline.

What he is now pleading with the general public for is help with a return ticket so he can come back home. As mentioned, he is currently very stranded.

He has reached out to many people, including family members, but they have all given him different excuses.

He has also applied for an exit permit through the embassy. They told him they would assist him and process it for free, but only if he agrees to leave India immediately once the exit is granted, which he has agreed to.

I have a copy of his passport. In case he receives the help he needs, I will personally help him purchase the ticket, or anyone else who wants to assist can do so.

The cost of his return ticket is approximately ₦800,000+. I believe if we all come together, we can help this brother out.
