@scottisaacsmd In our research we found alanine aminotransferase (OR = 2.23, 95 % CI 1.91–2.58, P value < 0.001), aspartate aminotransferase (OR = 1.60, 95 % CI 1.42–1.80, P value< 0.001), were significantly higher in the NAFLD patients, however the results about AST and ALT are controversial

In our recent meta-analysis research surveying NAFLD in the Iranian population, we estimated the total prevalence of NAFLD at 36.5%, which is higher than the estimates you mentioned. this should mean a lot to governments to take this disease much more serious
