Delighted to warmly welcome Ambassadors of @EU_Commission member states accredited in Chad to the LCBC Headquarters in N’Djamena. This important visit was a valuable opportunity to deepen diplomatic ties and reaffirm our shared commitment to addressing the challenges facing the Lake Chad Basin.
@lcbc_cblt sincerely appreciates the EU’s steadfast and generous support, which continues to play a vital role in promoting peace, security, stability, and sustainable development across the region. Together, we remain committed to strengthening cooperation and building a safer, more prosperous future for all communities in the basin.
Earlier today @ #Eschborn, the LCBC/GIZ team, led by Executive Secretary @Amb_MNuhu, visited GIZ Headquarters. Discussions highlighted over two decades of strong collaboration between LCBC, GIZ, and the Government of Germany.
This exchange provided valuable lessons to the LCBC for improving regional cooperation and leveraging technology for sustainable water and resource management. 💧

It was a privilege for the LCBC/GIZ team visiting Deutscher Wetterdienst (DWD) to witness their world-class expertise in meteorological services and innovative climate solutions. 🌦️
LCBC learned about hydro-meteorological data chains, early warning systems like RainBoW, and GPCC’s role in global precipitation monitoring.
These insights will strengthen LCBC’s capacity to deliver accurate climate data, improve early warning systems, and enhance resilience in the Lake Chad region.

Honoured to have delivered the keynote address at the German Foreign Office in #Berlin for the launch of the GPPI-ISS policy brief (Political Tools for Mapping Crises in Africa).
The Lake Chad Basin remains a beacon of resilience, and the Borno Model offers powerful lessons for peacebuilding across Africa.
I therefore thank the German Government, @GermanyDiplo for its continued support to the LCBC and Member States. We look forward to deepening our partnership to improve lives in recovering communities.
