Sister Asma’s age: Asma, Aisha’s older sister, is reported to have been 10 years older than Aishain Many Hadiths. Asma died in 73 AH at age 100. If Asma was 100 in 73 AH, she was born ∼27 BH. That would make Aisha born ∼17 BH. The marriage was in 2 AH, so Aisha would be ∼19.
Hijra context: Aisha is reported to have accepted Islam early, before Hijra. If she was only 6 in 2 AH, she would have been born after prophethood started, which doesn’t fit some of her reports of her remembering early Islam. It automatically condemned all the Hadiths she gave about Early Islam, since she was born a Muslim.

Hadith of battles
Aisha reports she went with the Prophet ﷺ to the Battle of Badr and Uhud. Some scholars note that children under 15 were generally not allowed on battlefields. If she was there, she’d likely be 15+.

Abubakr and Umar requested Fatima for marriage, the prophet declined and said she was very young, If Aisha was really 6, Abu Bakr and Umar/Uthman would have questioned the Prophet ﷺ when he said Fatima was "too young" to marry. And later she married Aliyu bn abi dalib, but they didn’t.
They accepted it, and later married their own daughters to him.

That suggests they understood "young" to mean pre-puberty/immature, and saw Aisha as being of marriageable age at that time.

Quranic standard
_���Test the orphans until they reach marriageable age. Then if you perceive in them sound judgment, release their property to them.”_ [Quran 4:6]
Some scholars use this to argue maturity/sound judgment was the Islamic standard for marriage, not just a number.

Some researchers question the chain of the specific "6 and 9" hadiths. They note most of those reports come through Hisham ibn Urwah in Iraq, and he’s reported to have had memory issues later in life. Other companions didn’t narrate the same age details.

The fact that she was engaged with someone else before the prophet is alone a reason that she was at a marriageable age.

A lot of Muslims especially the (Sunni Muslims) have the tendency to protect & defend Hadiths from "sahih bukhari" at all cost.

But Allah said in Quran 4:82
_“Then do they not reflect upon the Qur’an? If it had been from other than Allah, they would have found within it much contradiction.”_[any]

Here Allah is giving a challenge that
A human-made book will have mistakes, contradictions, changing rules, and things that don’t line up over time.
It's like The Qur’an says: look closely. If you don’t find contradictions, then it’s proof it’s from Allah.

We need to understand that only Qura'n is supreme. Every other book who ever write it can have a mistake.
