I just saw and treated Alberta patients who had limped in pain for many months and had been on crutches. Now they're walking pain-free. A colleague in Alberta does the same for BC patients. How bizarre that out-of-province patients have more legal rights than residents in Canada?
@DrBrianDay I have had patients travel to ON from NB for private hip arthroplasty - they stated they would have been happy to have the procedure done locally but no option exists, very frustrating!
https://t.co/5fPp19MDZV released ground-breaking research today that shows there were 1,480 surgeries that were cancelled in 2018-19 as the patient had passed away. https://t.co/nunOuSJH3G
Provincial governments need to encourage hospitals to make orthopaedic surgeries high on their list of priorities when resuming elective surgeries. #FastTrackCare https://t.co/KBYMioHy5Z
