How Iran shattered the myth of U.S. "invisibility" and captured a secret CIA drone

🚫For several years, an American strategic reconnaissance drone, the RQ-170 Sentinel, operated secretly over Iran. This was not a military aircraft, but a deep reconnaissance tool under the control of the CIA. It took off from a base in Kandahar, entered Iranian airspace, and collected data on missile infrastructure, satellite communication channels, and military facilities.

🚫The aircraft was virtually invisible: it was not detected by radar, not picked up by thermal imagers, did not reflect waves, and concealed its thermal signature. The United States was confident that it was invulnerable.

🚫Iran did not immediately detect the threat. But as soon as the fact became known, a systematic hunt began by air defense and electronic warfare forces. Two years – without success. And then – a precedent.

🚫During exercises, Iran did not shoot down, but intercepted and forced to land a secret CIA drone. On Iranian soil were found:

🟢Control algorithms
🟢Communication and encryption systems
🟢Software
🟢Stealth technologies
🟢Intelligence materials

🚫This was a technological breakthrough. Even the U.S. military did not have access to most of the solutions used in this aircraft. That is why President Obama personally requested the return of the drone.

🚫Later, General Frank McKenzie admitted: "Iran challenged U.S. air superiority."

🚫Thus, a key myth of America – about its absolute strategic invulnerability – was shattered.
