South Africa let me warn you.

This is exactly what Zanu PF did last year during the Zimbabwe elections. I was following that election and watching how close Fikile Mbalula was to the Zanu PF and its leaders. They pretended to solve the problems. They lied to win.

Right after the elections everything fell apart. There is hunger, a failed new currency, load shedding and water shortages are far worse in Zimbabwe. Who was taking notes - Fikile Mbalula.

The ANC is trying to pull a Zanu PF move on us all.

They will burn as much diesel as required, they will stop looting quality coal and do anything and everything for the next 49 days at Eskom because they are panicking and they know they are at risk of losing power. They know that you are gatvol.

The ANC is relying on recency bias - the tendency to be disproportionately influenced by recent occurrences when evaluating or making a decision about something. In this case, your vote.

The plan is simple keep the lights on and hope that you will forget how much food you had to replace over the last six years.

They hope that you will forget how many power banks, gas stoves, generators you had to buy over the last six years. They hope that you will forget all the disruptions in your life and business caused by all the stages of load shedding. They hope you will forget how much money you lost.

Nothing has changed and winter is coming. We need to remember who this government is, what they have done over the last six years and the last fifteen years.

We must not forget how far the currency has fallen, how the high cost of living has hurt us all, bread used to be R10 and now it’s R19 in most places. Fuel prices have gone through the roof. South Africans are struggling and it has gotten worse in the last six years.

50 days of electricity should not make us forget, otherwise we will have another terrible five years. Do not fall for it, we have an opportunity to do something better than a return to more corruption and more incompetence.

We have a unique opportunity to take this country back from a band of thieves and thugs.
