Tech Update: Getting Ready for Testnet

September was a huge month for development as we moved closer to launching Psy’s first public testnet. From the VM to the Prover, every part of the stack saw major progress and polish — stability, precision, and performance all got a serious upgrade.

Virtual Machine (VM)
Our VM got smarter and more stable. We fixed key execution issues, expanded opcode testing, and introduced a powerful new command — ClearEntireTree — to efficiently reset nullifiers and streamline state management.

Compiler
We added new low-level functions (__sum_bits and __split_bits) to make contract logic more flexible, and fixed how state slots are calculated for arrays — small details that make a big difference in developer experience and reliability.

Prover
Gas costs are now more accurate thanks to a fix in multicall fee handling, and several circuit-level issues were resolved — improving the consistency and efficiency of proof generation across the network.

Node
Our node team wrapped up proof RPC testing for reward claiming, stress-tested deployments on AWS, and is improving atomic commit handling between realms. They’re also building tools for data backup and sync directly to AWS S3, paving the way for reliable node operations across environments.

Tools & Infrastructure
We continued testing and debugging our API services to ensure a smooth experience for upcoming testnet users — faster responses, cleaner endpoints, and better stability overall.

TL;DR: Testnet is coming. Every subsystem is aligning toward one goal — making Psy’s next phase fast, secure, and ready for the world.
