@gabrielnavarret @LatinXChem @TaiciaFill @unicampoficial In our work, we were able to putatively identify secondary metabolites of the orange and the fungus related to the infection, however, we need further studies to understand the mechanisms of infection and how Penicillium italicum manages to combat the defense mechanisms.

Currently, the main compounds used in plantations are the fungicides Imazalil (IMZ), Pyrimethanil,
Fludioxonil, and Thiabendazole

@gabrielnavarret @LatinXChem @TaiciaFill @unicampoficial Although until today there are not many works that reveal exactly the mechanisms of Penicillium infection, we noticed that the antifungal action of the secondary metabolites produced by the orange is not effective enough to fight the infection.
