@Manhattva I want to be written about fondly in the personal journals of my family and friends.
However, I also want to be written about in the personal journals of my enemies. May I live a life sufficient for my victories to haunt their minds for generations.
@BYUFlorida My thoughts exactly. I’m almost disappointed to see these types of additions because that tells me that we’re years away from a major stadium expansion or meaningful renovations.
Announcing the return of Dreamfinder and Figment brings me immense nostalgic joy…. and I know that the Villains Land is going to be tremendously popular, but this just felt like a rather disappointing and anticlimactic D23. 🤷🏻
I’m expecting that after this cruise line stuff they’re going to announce a new villains themed coaster, and probably a Moana attraction. I’d love to hear about a new Epcot hotel, and a new country pavilion, but I’m not gonna hold my breath because they haven’t even started selling Lakeshore Lodge yet. 🤷🏻
@BYUFlorida The Yeti has been my favorite announcement so far. Hopefully they announce a new DVC magnet. That’ll really make me feel like they’ve done a lot for D23! 😉
@kateiswell I agree with you completely, but I treat it the same way I do a public restroom when I unfortunately have to use one. I assume that the general public is subhuman and gross. I wipe with a disinfectant wipe before I use it, and I make sure it’s clean when I’m done.
@BYUFlorida Generational memories ❤️
I remember going to Hoop-Dee-doo when I was a young boy and we camped at Fort Wilderness with Scouts.
I took my own kids there on a recent trip, but we stayed DVC at Wilderness Lodge because they’re spoiled and their dad is a vacation club member. 😂
If you’re doing 3-D printing, make sure that you get a fairly large SSD to store models. Those files can be large. Unless you’re doing heavy CAD design or complex 3-D sculpting you still probably only “need” a good midtier computer like a Dell Pro Max tower.
One thing to keep in mind as you can often times save money by buying the upgrades separately from the prebuilt computer. So buying a computer and upgrading the memory and SSD (storage) from the basic model is often more expensive than just buying additional ram or an additional SSD and adding it once you get the box.
If you want to build a computer, there is a custom PC builder on https://t.co/LhsLiQ2EbP that guides you through the process of picking different components and also shows different bundles of components that are popular among people that do this stuff regularly. It would be a good place to start to make sure that you get all of the necessary pieces, there are excellent YouTube videos for assembling these types of computers and for most of the assembly, the pieces can literally only fit in the correct way/place… so just don’t force anything when you’re putting it together.
Specs to consider if custom building:
Good CPU’s - Intel Core i7 or i9, AMD Ryzen 7 or 9 or similar ($300-$500)
32 gigs of DDR5 RAM ( 2x16 $350-$500)
1TB SSD ($150-$200)
Solid Mid-tier graphics cards (Radeon RX 9070, GForce RTX 5070, or similar $500-$600)
I work in IT. For 90% of people out there a mid-tier Dell, or an iMac, is a perfectly suitable computer. Unless you’re rendering Video, working with really resource intensive models, or are some sort of competitive gamer, you can probably save some money and just get a good solid machine from one of the large manufacturers like Apple, Dell, or HP. The main difference average users will see between a Mac and a PC is the operating system, which is personal preference.
If you’re really into gaming, you are gonna have to drop 3 to 4 grand to get a really solid gaming rig. Ram and video cards are expensive right now. You could go with alien wear, which is made by Dell, or Corsair, or iBuyPower. If you were truly “really into gaming,” you would probably know exactly what you want. So don’t feel any pressure to buy a high-end gaming rig if you just play video games on the side for fun.
If you’re up for adventure, you could build a custom box, it’s easier than you think, but I assume if you’re reaching out on X, you’re probably looking to buy something ready to go, not looking to buy a bunch of parts and assemble it on your kitchen table
@GrigulisSylvia The only reasonable answer would be somebody with money, poor impulse control, and difficulty sticking with portions for a healthy diet.
@latterdaylaura Talking about loving your family while learning about your ancestors, AND mentioning hot chocolate instead of coffee in a children’s book! Bloomers Be Bunching!
#MormonPropaganda 😂
@jaebird I had not verified in my ID on X, not sure if that was part of what made me ineligible or not, but I did verify it, so maybe that will help since X now knows I meet the ID and location requirements 🤷🏻
I only have X Premium, not Premium+ so I don’t have an invite to X money yet. Debating whether I should just wait (never been patient) or find out who I know with access and ask them to send a peer-to-peer transfer which supposedly grants access when I “claim” it.
@BYUFlorida Looks great! I know this may come off as controversial, but I’m happy about what they’re doing with limiting access to the buses and to the monorail resorts. I’m staying at the Poly in a couple months and I’m looking forward to less crowding for the fireworks.
@gjacobson This is the most remote I’ve been to, Haines, Alaska.
I’ve also been to the Whitehorse YT building that the other guy posted. Haines is so remote, people there sometimes go shopping in the “big city” of Whitehorse.
