@He1_H0 @ShiningPlat @_TheRandomGuy__ I would argue the Waddle Dee rider is a much more obnoxious inclusion. Bandana Dee was supposed to be their conduit; not only did they waste a slot on the same character design, but they also made it impossible to roleplay as the 64 Waddle Dee.

At this rate, I'm tired of the Bandana Dee strawman tactic for Smash. That's not a good excuse to mock the idea of more in-house newcomers, let alone more Kirby ones.
Bandana Dee's current chances of being a disappointment are ironically the fault of the Smash devs themselves.

@Gemrayumeno I guess Mario Kart 7 is not the worst comparison I've heard, but at least I was able to play as Shy Guy in that game. I actually think most of the non-mandatory choices in Air Riders were not that good.
And I doubt we're going to even get a MK8-tier redemption arc for this.

Some of the games in the franchise have been divisive among fans, occasionally staining it; but none of them have caused such a skewed and lasting effect on the public perception of Kirby.

Fighters 2 had very poor reasoning behind her complete absence, and Forgotten Land was playing with fire minimizing the Kirby cast in such a humanoid background setting.
