With the Colorado River’s reservoirs declining toward critically low levels, negotiators for California, Arizona and Nevada announced a new water-saving plan for the next two years. https://t.co/gnSp93vNBE
Grateful to live in CA where innovation is a mindset. Proud to join @CalNatResources, @CA_DWR, @ucmerced & @TurlockID to mark construction completion of the state’s first solar canal pilot—a climate solution that saves water, conserves land & generates clean energy. #ProjectNexus
CA innovation strikes again. Thrilled to be on the @SolarAquaGrid team who sparked the pilot with the potential to save water and land while generating #cleanenergy.
While the Trump Administration tears down clean energy in favor of fossil fuels, California is activating a pilot project for the nation’s first solar-covered canal.
We're investing in new technologies to find more solutions for lowering costs, saving water, and preparing for a hotter, drier future.
OUTRAGEOUS: Free Palestine activists are planning a protest at the Buchenwald concentration camp in Germany during the anniversary of its liberation.
About 56,000 prisoners were murdered at Buchenwald, including many Jews, yet the Free Palestine movement is turning the commemoration into a political platform about themselves.
Organizers intend to hold demonstrations and lectures at the memorial under the slogan “Keffiyehs in Buchenwald.” This follows an incident last year in which a visitor was barred from entering the memorial while wearing a keffiyeh in protest of Israel’s policies in Gaza. It was later reported that the visitor was affiliated with an organization that had praised Hamas and the October 7 massacre.
First, a memorial site is not the place to protest Israel’s policies. Jews at Buchenwald were murdered for being Jews, before the Israeli-Palestinian conflict even existed.
Second, commemorating 56,000 murdered prisoners should not be turned into a performative protest about keffiyehs.
Families come to pay their respects, not to hear fake activists shouting about anti-Israel symbols inside Buchenwald.
It is neither the place nor the time.
This should be a bigger story.
A Reagan-appointed judge just ruled Trump’s Energy Secretary illegally ran a secret panel of climate deniers to cook up a biased report and sabotage clean air rules.
They didn’t follow the law, didn’t follow the science, and betrayed the public to serve Trump’s agenda.
Disgraceful. https://t.co/s3xD3rfeIX
Do you have a passport? Do you know where your birth certificate is?
If the answer to both is no, then you cannot vote under the SAVE Act.
The SAVE Act is NOT a voter ID bill. It’s a voter suppression bill.
I just spoke with the White House after another horrific shooting by federal agents this morning. Minnesota has had it. This is sickening.
The President must end this operation. Pull the thousands of violent, untrained officers out of Minnesota. Now.
The Trump administration is disgusting!
Yesterday, ICE raided a home on St. Paul’s East Side. Their target was ChongLy Scott Thao, an elderly Hmong American man.
He’s a U.S. citizen with no criminal record.
Armed ICE agents broke down the door without presenting a valid warrant, entered with guns drawn, and handcuffed him in front of his 5-year-old grandson, who was left crying and traumatized.
This happened in sub-zero conditions, with wind chills near -30°F. Thao was dragged outside wearing only shorts, a blanket, and Crocs and marched through the snow.
ICE then drove him around for nearly an hour, questioned and fingerprinted him, confirmed he was a citizen and not the person they were looking for… and dropped him back at home.
No apology. No explanation. No accountability.
Is this what you voted for?
BREAKING: Native American citizens are being detained by ICE and sent to a camp Fort Snelling, a former Native American concentration camp where Native women, children, and elders were once imprisoned in brutal conditions, where many died from disease, starvation, and exposure.
The reason? The Trump administration reportedly wants ICE to be able to operate on Native American lands. They're using this as a means to extort the tribes into cooperating.
Sending Native people back to a former concentration camp isn’t just cruel, it’s a moral failure and unforgettable history repeating itself.

A young man bought a pair of Chanukah pajamas at Bloomingdale’s for his girlfriend. When she opened the gift, she found a “Free Palestine” note written on the store card.
Celebrating Chanukah is not a political statement.
Being Jewish is not a provocation. It should not be confronted. And it is certainly not up for debate.
Thank you, Governor Newsom. We have win, win, win opportunity now to produce clean energy, save water and protect wildlands.
Let’s see how we can do more by supporting the research of the CA Solar Canal Initiative.

“California is taking the first steps in realizing an idea to save billions of gallons of water each year and produce enough clean energy to power a city the size of Los Angeles for nine months annually.”
"Trump is a threat to American competitiveness by letting China dominate electric vehicles, solar panels and other clean energy technologies of the future.”
The pivotal technological change in energy wasn’t renewables. It was combined cycle gas turbine.
As Lynne Kiesling explained on the podcast, in the 1980s this shift made smaller, more decentralized and nimble natural gas plants competitive with large hydro, coal, and nuclear plants. Economies of scale became less monolithic.
When markets allow price discovery, different assets can express and realize their value over time. That’s how competition works, and it’s why markets have to evolve with technology.
The bigger lesson: our regulations were built for the technologies of the 1960's and 70's. Steel in the ground. Large size. Narrow scope. Today’s technologies, from aeroderivative gas turbines to solar power to batteries to digital controls, don’t fit that mold.
Key takeaways from this discussion with Lynne:
✅ Technology change requires regulators to keep up; regulations can’t stay stuck in the past
✅ Combined cycle gas turbines reshaped scale economics before renewables did
✅ Market design must evolve alongside new technologies
✅ Flexibility and price signals matter
The challenge now: building market designs that keep up with innovation, instead of slowing it down.
