Reach used to be something you rented.
The article lands on it cleanly: "distribution is the only edge left." Agreed. But the part worth sitting with is how that edge gets handed out.
For years, access ran on claims. Follower count. Who an agency vouched for. A whitelist spot granted because a number looked big, with nothing underneath it ever checked.
That isn't distribution. That's a credit decision made on a self-reported balance sheet.
@RallyOnChain reprices what access is granted on:
- the score is computed from the work, not negotiated by an agency
- it persists on-chain, so it follows you to the next project, not just the next payout
- access starts getting granted off that record instead of off a follower number
A follower count is a claim.
An on-chain reputation is a record.
A project can underwrite a creator off a record. It was never able to off a claim.
The edge was never reach. It was being legible to a system that can price what you actually did.
→ Where have you seen access handed out on a number nobody had checked?
