The DHS has finally made its position clear. The 350,000 Haitian nationals covered under TPS had years to regularize their status. The game of repeatedly extending deadlines and kicking the can down the road must stop. Either they qualify for legal, permanent residency—without a criminal record or reliance on government assistance—or they must return. Blanket protection can no longer be granted to everyone. America is not the world's welfare office. Enforce the law, curb the misuse of TPS, and prioritize American citizens. Deport those who do not qualify.
