Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas was written for Meet Me in St. Louis (1944) and first sung by Judy Garland. The song outgrew the movie completely and became a holiday classic that belongs to the whole world now.
.@Beyonce to be beside such a humble, gracious, legendary DIVA was a dream come true. Thank you for the opportunity to perform in Paris together & sing our song about friendship. To have learned from you & loved you my whole life, & then be standing together in matching gold looks is more than I could’ve imagined. As the finale to this trip supporting Something Beautiful, to close on something as beautiful as a stadium full of people singing “2 Most Wanted” with us was the ultimate firework. Thank you B. I’ll be your shotgun rider for life. Big gratitude to the Cowboy Carter tour crew, you all were incredible for making this happen. Forever and always.
the best on-screen chemistry by two actors? julie andrews & christopher plummer dancing to the laendler in the sound of music (1965). best romantic scene on film? the laendler dance in the sound of music (1965). best scene ever filmed? the laendler from the sound of music (1965)
Theatre etiquette is so lost, tell me why the people at Wicked were shocked to their core when we told them they had to stop yakking during the performance
‘Are you saying we’re not allowed to sing or talk?!’
Well, obviously?
the sound of music fun fact of the day: we were supposed to get a scene right after “edelweiss” in which maria is thinking back on that moment and it was deleted but now we have a high quality photo of that and i couldn’t be happier :’)
fun fact: 60 years ago julie andrews decided to add an extra octave to do re mi simply because she could, resulting in the creation of the word “mother” 🙂↕️
