@MCMCD_ The Boppy hybrid carrier was my lifesaver for 0-12 months: soft enough for the newborn phase but structured enough for when she was bigger. Hybrid was less intimidating than wraps for us. We got it 2ndhand, but I think this is the same one/similar: https://t.co/F9tXM3If9V
@DiligensRebecca@uxorious100 That sounds adorable! I've also seen people make them with two pieces of fleece, kind of like a tie blanket.
This one was big enough that it lasted us for a couple years, but I definitely agree that kids grow too fast for a lot of things!
@uxorious100 I would 100% recommend a poncho! It's much easier to slide it over their head, and it's warm enough for the dash from the car to the store etc. and also, if your kid lets you, you can lift it up in back and buckle them underneath, so they're still safe!

@AmiEverAfter One of our favorites is vegetarian and only makes about four servings (easy to double, though!), but it's so tasty - especially with fresh veggies in the summer!

@HermitFather We inched our way toward a polite voice. I'd say, "If you can't ask politely, can you ask with a silly voice?" & suggest a mouse/bear/robot etc. Sometimes it would make her giggle or at least distract/calm her down enough to ask in a not-whining voice or maybe even a polite one!
@racheljwelcher Our 2.5 yr old loves dressing her dolls/animals in baby's clothes and diapers. It's a whole ritual of picking clothes, getting dolls dressed, then a diaper change and often another outfit change because the doll "spit up." If you don't mind a little mess, it can fill some time.
@emilykmay Some of our favorites are
Henry and Mudge series (Rylant)
Mr. Putter and Tabby series (also by Rylant)
Found (Lloyd-Jones)
Millie Waits for the Mail (Steffensmeier)
Bears in the Bath (Parenteau)
@JosiahHawthorne Not a specific movie soundtrack, but the group Two Steps from Hell creates really epic-sounding orchestral music that's used for movie trailers.
@courtneyellis Probably too late for this library trip and 3 books instead of 1, but...
The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer
Piranesi by Susanna Clarke
Sparks Like Stars by Nadia Hashimi
Then in despair I hung my head
There is no peace on earth, I said
For hate is strong and mocks the song
Of peace on earth, goodwill to all
Then pealed the bells more loud and deep
God is not dead nor does he sleep
The wrong shall fail, the good prevail
With peace on earthโฆ
"The distorted moral narrative of Christian nationalism has allowed political leadership to claim to be โpro-lifeโ for decades, even as they undermined the social safety net and public goods that protect and sustain life."
