The baby isn't a charm you wish on - people forget that the "debaucherous" Mardi Gras season is actually more of a Christian celebration than all the pagan Easter bunny junk. The baby represents Jesus, it's considered an honor to get it & you're supposed to give back by bringing the next king cake!
