Stevenage icon Ronnie Henry recently announced his retirement from football ⚽️
After beginning his career in the academy at Tottenham Hotspur, Henry joined Stevenage in 2005 and quickly became a staple in The Boro’s defence.
Across two spells in Hertfordshire, he amassed a club-record 502 appearances, making him Stevenage’s all-time top appearance maker - surpassing the previous record in January 2018.
Henry captained Stevenage during a successful period in their history, lifting the FA Trophy twice. He became the first player to lift a competitive trophy at the new Wembley Stadium in the 2007 final and helped secure the National League title in 2009/10 followed by promotion to League One via the play-offs in 2010/11.
After a season with Luton Town, he returned to Stevenage in 2014 and continued to be a leader and model professional until his departure in 2019.
Beyond his club legacy, Henry also featured for the England C team during his career.
A club legend and one of Stevenage’s most well-regarded players, Henry’s longevity and leadership defined a career spanning over two decades.
Wishing you all the best in your retirement, Ronnie 🤝
