@AirCanada And the response is … @AirCanada expects me to get back on the phone with @Aeroplan because @AirCanada can’t figure out how to issue the refund they committed to issuing (although they had no problem taking the payment).
Not satisfactory. @AirCanada needs to fix this.
@AirCanada: you owe me a refund & public complaints are the only way to get it done. A thread:
On August 17 you cancelled my YEG-YUL itinerary. Cancellation email said: …
@AirCanada I have sent you a dm with ticket number, booking ref and a screenshot of your Aug 17 email cancelling my itinerary and promising refund in 5-7 business days. Awaiting your response.
@ZBayatrizi@AirCanada I’ve done this before (e.g. when @AirCanada stranded my daughter in Calgary) and gotten a real AC rep to deal with the situation. I don’t love having to complain in public but when customer service won’t respond, this is what they’ve left me with.
@AirCanada … I fly YEG-YUL frequently & will be even more frequent in future. If @AirCanada doesn’t want my business, I’ve got other (and frankly better) options. So: make it right. I don’t have endless time to play around with this silliness. In anticipation, etc.
@AirCanada … @AirCanada owns this problem. @AirCanada cancelled itinerary, @AirCanada promised refund of points + $$$, @AirCanada ghosted me. Hence I am back on X tweeting at you.
I want my points + $ refunded immediately. I don’t want to be told it’s someone else’s responsibility. …
@UbakaOgbogu Family wasn’t poor but didn’t have intergenerational $$$$ (no gifts for down payment, car, grad-school tuition etc). I was lucky to be born at time when upward mobility through public educ (for some pp) was still possible, in a country that was less stratified than now.
#LitFest2024 is happening and there are some great panels tonight and all weekend long!
More about the festival here:

@UAlbertaPress author @AmyKaler will be there Sat at 4pm, Rice Theatre, Citadel, panel on travel writing.
@LitFestYEG
@BFlanaganUofA This post is immune to irony. When students “innovated on the status quo” by setting up peaceful Gaza protest site in May, @UAlberta innovated on the cops to trash it immediately.
I’m guessing that cost the U more in donations than this jargon-laden brand video will recoup.
Hi Twitter, I'm going to be part of a discussion on the future of #travel#writing at #LitFest on Saturday October 19 at 16h00, with @MeaghanHackinen @WendyAnnMcGrath @KGYLennon. It's at the Citadel. Tickets here!

@UbakaOgbogu This is one of the few non-evil uses of AI. I love it. It makes labour-intensive qualitative research much more accessible to esp students & ECRs bc you no longer need $$$$$ & an army of minions to create transcripts. (Manual checking/verification still necessary as you say).
This is completely whacked. The right to refuse all medical treatment - does that mean parents can refuse lifesaving care for their children? Childcare workers don’t need chickenpox vax? Smith is sucking up to antivaxers but ramifications
In a few weeks time, our UCP Government will be introducing legislation to amend and strengthen the Alberta Bill of Rights, a document that has stood as a safeguard for our civil liberties and freedoms for decades.
These changes are a reaffirmation of the values that make Alberta one of the freest jurisdictions on earth. They are about protecting our rights, our freedoms, and our way of life.
We are sending a clear message that in Alberta, the rights of individuals are paramount, and that government must respect those rights at every turn.
We’re excited to debate this bill when MLAs return for the fall sitting of the legislature in November.
Great work @AndieYEG and @pinglamjoeip. The @Alberta_UCP makes things up to justify their ideologically-driven agenda. Perfect example of opinion-based evidence.
🧵The Premier of Alberta recently shared an article in the Globe and Mail stating that opioid-related deaths had dropped “again," attributing this to the new Alberta recovery model showing “real results.” @pinglamjoeip and I pulled the provincial data to fact check this claim.
@Mtl3Pylavoie @kinsellawarren@CraigSauve@theJagmeetSingh Okay, I was wrong, it's real.
If I were a NDP candidate, I wdn't put the flag of another country on my literature, no matter how worthy the cause. Foreign policy positions belong on party platform, not leaflet cover. Bad move, doesn't help cause. https://t.co/1aogFv0OEN
