We do some of the same things and have lots of crossover folks who participate in both communities... the major difference are the venues we work in...
The definition of advice is “guidance or recommendations offered with regard to prudent future action.” But we all know we can’t take all recommendations given to us - we’ve got to follow our guts too...
The consensus here is that many, many folks decide not to make their stories public in order to graduate or to keep their jobs - and we are here for you whichever way you chose to go...
There is no obligation to tell your story in public or to the MeTooSTEM community in order to continue joining us in the fight... all are welcome whether you decide to share or not...
it's a tough spot bc you want to tell your story and get it out there but you also don't want to put yourself out there to be retaliated against or give up to much info about your case...
you may also want to make sure you have things well documented and complaints filed - although its super hard to trust in the process b/c it so often fails us - sometimes getting those ducks in a row first is imp
