How we speak, teach about, or walk with abuse survivors must be a living out in the flesh the opposite of the crushing, silencing, and diminishing of abuse.
I recently sat down with pastor and historian @SeanMLucas to talk about the founding vision of the PCA for the Alliance for Mission & Renewal.
I hope it will help familiarize PCA pastors, members, and those journeying into the PCA with our history & vision as a denomination. 👇
@derekradney@timkellernyc Amen! I just keep thinking about how good the PCA was in the early 90s, how much I loved it, and how it's become so filled with vexacious litigants who will make it culty in their ambition to be in the rm where it happens
As @timkellernyc argued in his 1999 article The Original PCA “Contract,” the PCA provided at its founding the opportunity to stand for ancient truth without compromise while avoiding unnecessary division over minor matters and remaining effective in ministry and mission. This “contract” constituted a mutual understanding among the founders “that the PCA was going to allow for Reformed diversity at more points than the smaller denominations had done, but also to insist on uniformity on far more issues than the mainline churches had done. The result was a unique ‘PCA balance’ of diversity and uniformity, of truth and love, which was going to be an alternative to any other American Reformed body.”
We're *not* claiming this is a unique vulnerability to women.
A 26 year old *male* seminary student cannot meaningfully consent to a sex with his professor or admin, either, especially if that person had symbolically "adopted" him into her family.

Some ideas for a fuller theological statement on men and women:
· The husband is head of his wife.
· The husband should rule his house well.
· The husband should love his wife and understand her as the weaker vessel.
· The wife should submit to her husband.
· Women should have a gentle and quiet spirit.
· Woman was created for man, not man for woman.
· Younger women should marry, bear children, and keep house.
· Women should teach other women to work at home.
· A woman should not teach or exercise authority over a man.
· Women are to keep silent in the churches.
The circumcision convo was never a complaint #blakelively made; here it was used to show an example of the kind of poor boundaries that #justinbaldoni would later display on set.
@megbasham Covenant Seminary's best scholarships have been 50 percent tuition. The best scholarship for Christian higher education just got reduced to...about the same amount you'd find at other institutions. Plus student visas are being rejected anyways
A Muslim man named Farooq approaches a Jewish rabbi to express his sorrow and apologise for what happened, followed by a heartfelt exchange, is truly powerful. While there is a lot of darkness in the world, gestures like these remind us that compassion, unity, and mutual respect still prevail.

Regarding discrimination and white men, a few things are true at once:
1) The more we rid ourselves of discrimination and the legacy of discrimination and grant equal opportunity to women and people of all races and ethnicities, the more that the percentage of white guys in any given industry (with some exceptions, of course, not all professions are the same) will fall back closer to their general percentage of the population. So, over time, you should expect to see lower percentages of white men in any given field compared to historic norms.
2) At the same time, if you try to hasten that natural and just process with explicit anti-white discrimination, then you're 1) going to violate federal civil rights laws; and 2) you're going to generate deep bitterness and righteous anger in people who know they've faced discrimination.
Equal opportunity is lawful, just, and necessary, and it will (and has!) changed society and the job market in many, many ways -- including in ways that dominant groups might not like. Racial discrimination is unlawful, unjust, and unnecessary, and it divides and embitters our nation, just as it always has.
And this is what fraudoni crazies do to everyone who was on set, who stands by #BlakeLively they weren't paid off,or lying, people just don't want to admit they are wrong & fell for a smear campaign. Just plan to keep harassing everyone thinking they'll change their side?
All of these people didn't betray fraudoni! He and jamey ran a shit show for a set that #BlakeLively & Brandon actually saved, best acting of the movie. And w/ blake & every producer practically doing their job vs worrying about sex scenes a decent movie was made
There's a gen nature to push for a settlement. Like my own work arbitration we did do a mediation though that was a waste of time, the other side took it so not seriously. Mediator spent hours that day advocating for a fair # just like #BlakeLively i dealt w/ ego & narcissists
its a preview liman will not grant a dismissal or summ judgement if he feels settlement is best here. And further knowing he has to yet again look at discovery wayfarer has been withholding on privilege basis, every other time it hasn't been! Clear #BlakeLively has stronger case
